After a week of sunshine, we woke up to rain on Tuesday morning. We headed down to breakfast before continuing our science themed lessons. Today we were studying the different forces involved in creating a tall tower out of spaghetti and marshmallows and we had the opportunity to come up with our own medical inventions; Jaden had the idea of a tiny robot that can travel inside the body to cure diseases and Jowan thought of a healing liquid that you can drink to re-grow lost limbs. Our afternoon activities consisted of football and dodgeball, and then Noah and Maggie ran a drama activity. Jeremy said ‘we played a lot of games in Maggie’s class and it was very fun!’ and Jaden said ‘we were given a scenario on a piece of paper and had to act out the scene.’ After supper it was still raining, so we all watched Jumanji before heading to bed.
The next day was our trip to Oxford. After a short coach journey we arrived and walked to our first stop: the Harry Potter shop! Many parts of the Harry Potter films were filmed in Oxford. We then went to the famous Blackwell’s bookshop. Our next stop was the Oxford Science Museum; Jaden liked seeing the ‘globes that show the terrestrial earth and the constellations’ and Teejay liked the ‘old radios’. For lunch we went to the famous Covered Market and happily did some shopping whilst we were there! Nick then took us on a tour around Magdalen College and Ross said that he ‘liked the old and classic architecture, especially the tall tower.’ Our final destination was the Botanic Garden. The Garden is the oldest one in Britain and has over 6,000 different plants! After a quick pit-stop at Sainsbury’s we headed home after a long day. Both Maxx and Teejay fell asleep on the bus!
