What a summer of excitement 2018 has been. We wanted to share some of our highlights.
This year we had three academic programmes. Our Myth, Monsters and Magic team have delved into the literary worlds of Macbeth, Harry Potter, Frankenstein and the Arthurian knights. Our Mad Inventors have explored the world of science and discovery, creating their own inventions and impressed us all with their teamwork. Finally, our English Language students have made incredible strides in their confidence in English. They have become a tightknit team, so supportive of each other.
That support was especially shown on our Friday public speaking day when every student worked together to put on amazing dramatic presentations and performances. We were so proud.
In the three hottest weeks England can remember, we have been outside everyday playing sports, games and challenges. The Problem Solving Company set up a unique escape room challenge on site. We set up a slip and slide down the hill. We’ve also had barbecues and two forest school days which I know were a highlight for many.
Our first field trip was to explore beautiful Eton before taking to kayaks, paddleboards and our own rafts on horseshoe lake. Our next field trip immersed us in the historic city of Oxford with a bespoke treasure hunt around the colleges. In the final week we visited the majestic Windsor Castle then let of some steam in the trampoline park.
Of course, everyone’s favourite thing is always our day of movie making with a professional crew. Click here to watch our film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The very best of luck to our students of The Summer Academy 2018. We hope to see all of you again soon and do please keep in touch.
