We have had a whizz-bang summer and wanted to share some of our highlights.
This year we had three academic programmes. Our Leadership and Enterprise crew have explored business from every angle and developed some pretty impressive business ideas of their own, complete with branding and marketing strategies which they pitched to The Apprentice star Nick Hewer. Our Codebreakers have delved into the world of sleuths and spies in literature. They have written their own codes and spy stories and impressed us all with their teamwork. Finally, our English Language students have made incredible strides in their confidence in English. They have become a tight knit team, so supportive of each other.
That support was especially shown on our final public speaking day when every student worked together to put on amazing dramastic presentations and perfromaces. We were so proud.
Our forest school was fantastic, led by specialist practitioners who took us out into the woods to play team games in nature. In sunshine and in drizzle, we have been outside every day playing sports, games and challenges. The Problem Solving Company set up a unique escape room challenge on site. We’ve also had barbecues and a camping evening which I know was a highlight for many.
Our first field trip was to beautiful Longleat House where they put on bespoke workshops for us followed by a thrilling big game safari – so unexpected in the English countryside. Our next field trip immersed us into art and then team sports on Horseshoe Lake.
Of course, everyone’s favourite thing is always our day of movie making with a professional crew. Click here to watch our film James and Jane Bond.
The very best of luck to our students of The Summer Academy 2017. We hope to see all of you again soon and do please keep in touch.
